A Letter from Our President & CEO
I love coming to work everyday!
In 1987 I graduated from SUNY at Geneseo with a major in Business Management, minor in Finance and was very fortunate to immediately secure a job in my field of study. I went to work for a very successful boutique investment advisory firm that specialized in Taft Hartley Defined Benefit Retirement Plans. It was here, at the very beginning of my career, that I met my business partner Amy Mielnicki, and together we learned that the key to having a successful business is to have a well defined client analysis, implement strategies around the needs of the client, and follow up on a regular basis with an easy to understand communication process. We learned that these basic principles are the fundamentals to achieving long lasting, trusted client relationships and ultimately the cornerstone to our client based culture here at Paradigm Consulting, Inc.
How did Paradigm start? In the late 80’s, when there was a wave of interest shifting traditional retirement plans to defined contribution plans, (what are commonly referred to as 401k plans today), business owners were eager to listen to this “new plan design”. In a short period of time, with rigorous training, an insatiable appetite to learn, coupled with a large audience eager to listen, we secured many trusted relationships by sharing this knowledge with any business owner that agreed to a meeting! Along the way, because we had constant contact with our clientele, we were able to further expand our business by attracting and implementing strategies for their personal investments as well.
As time went on, we also became very involved with other employee benefits of these companies and started the employee benefit division of our business. We expanded this division by our partnership in UBA, United Benefit Advisor’s, the fourth largest employee benefit advisory organization in the country. This partnership gives us the leverage we needed to have national recognition, along with state of the art tools and technology.
Over the years, we have developed into a company with four well-defined areas of expertise, both individual and group. We have developed a strong team of professionals that have been with us for a very long time and are interested in carrying out our client based corporate culture. We all work well together and I believe everyone enjoys the atmosphere, and personal interaction that we have with our clients.
Again after 25 years in this business, I still love coming to work each day and always look forward to my client interactions and the continuation of building a first class team !
